Sydney, Australia

Sydney is the largest city in Australia, with a population of about 4 million. It has most of the well-known Australian icons within it's bounds: The Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, Botany Bay, Bondi Beach ...

The young city of Sydney is the capital of New South Wales, and the site of the original settlement by the British in 1788. Since then, it has grown into a multi-cultural “World City”, comparing itself with the likes of London, New York, Paris.

Many visitors think of Sydney as a gateway to the vast deserts of Australia; there is a persistent vision of the 'true Aussie' as a sun-bronzed stockman or jillaroo. Of course, nothing could be further from the day-to-day reality, and Sydneysiders remain obsessed by the beach, of which there are over 70 within the city.
